A wee bit late or a little bit left over from yesterday.

Crocus Days are here again, and soon daffodil season may begin. We’ve (Mister Bagpipes, Fiddle, and myself) have been out in the crocus beds playing with the Macro Lens and Light.

I prefer crisp detailed photos with their natural, beautiful colors. Like here. Which is I why I tend to shoot with a narrow/lower aperature.

To get as much detail of my subject as possible. I like to see every sparkle and vein on a flower petal.

However I have been having fun again with aperature. There’s something a wee bit magical about the light and how it moves or graces flowers.

But you have to get it just so or else the mesmirizing effects, looking for what is in and out of focus, turn dizzying.

Sometimes it’s all about the light…

…even the shadows.

Unfortunately where the skies are quite overcast and rain pours forth now and again. But keep an eye out for Auroras in your area.

I was real late tonight doing night chores due to a steady thunderstorm. It has warmed up a bit since this afternoon at 2pm when it was 35. We had a dense fog for a couple of hours before the wind picked up a bit, and with it came the far echoes of thunder. The storms moved through, but not before the local pack did. About 7 o’clock the coyotes were at it again, unfortunately I think hunting my barn cat, Fiddle…who made it back with no cuts just some ruffled hair and exhausted nerves.

They were having a howling, yipping commotion fit for a good 10-15 minutes. When I went out after the storms eased I had expected to run into one or two. I was unsurprised when thousands of long earth worms crossed my path….or I guess I crossed theirs. I, however, was not expecting to meet up with this fella. Seriously! I know it’s Leap Day, and it’s like a spring storm, but it’s not THAT warm.

He was rather disgusted with me, as if I was the one who wasn’t supposed to be out this last February night. He’s not perzactly smiling for the camera here. But I thought one was surprising, but then when I got to the pond there was another. The second was less cooperative, he just stood up higher…he must need bifocals…to get a better look, said “oh it’s you. I remember you. Good bye,” and turned back into to swim.

Matters around here are even weirder than usual. Apparently it was truly Leap Frog Day.

There’s a new story over at Horse Family Magazine, well rather a poem; Carrot Kisses.
The bestest pic is of the moo cow slobberfest of the Almost Triplets/Twins, Plus One = Baby Betty Ann, Baby June, and Baby Lilly sucking each other’s ears. It tells of a thousand slobbers without having to say a word.
